Sea
Lions This
is how we got from the ship to the shore and back, Some places it was a wet landing, meaning we had to put out feet
outside the Zodiac and slide down into the water and wade ashore. It was never over knee deep though and always a sandy
bottom. Our welcoming committee - also known as the Three Wise Lions
Hay,
over here, Take my picture, only $5.00 bucks. Aren't
I just the cutest Sea Lion you ever saw? Getting' down to work!
Hay
Buddy, flip me with that tail one more time and I'll bite it! This poor little guy was really having a problem He
would come up to a group of sea lions laying on the beach and bark. Yes, even though they were on the same beach, they seemed to separate into family units. One would look up, and growl at him and he would waddle rapidly off. Guess he was being told, no your mom ain't here, get lost kid. If he didn't leave fast enough, one of the lions would actually lunge at him. Finally,
after what must have seemed an eternity to him, a sea lion .swam up to the beach from the sea. Guess she had been out fishing. It actually was about two hours that he wandered the beach.
I'm starving! Finially, Lunch. This guy swam
with us from one beach to another for a long time.
He was extremely inquisitive about what was in
the Zodiac
It appeared as though he was trying to get in!
Yeah,
that's what I have been looking for! An American Express Platinum. I'm treating the boys on the beach to a beer, at the bar ! Fur
Seals (fur sea lions) The Galapagos Fir Seal (lion) is not as gregarious as the sea lion, preferring
to spend their time sleeping in rocky outcroppings and fishing at night.
Headed back to the ship after a great afternoon on
the beach with the sea lions.
Hope the beer is cold! |
